Victor Bruno passed away on May 12, 2023 at the age of 86 after a brief illness.
Victor was born on April 4th, 1937 to Nick Bruno and Katherine Ameno in Struthers, OH. He attended Struthers High School where he graduated in 1957.
He was a steel worker for 29 years working for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, J&L Steel and LTV in Youngstown, OH. He went on and worked another 10 years at Lockley Machine in New Castle, PA and spent the remaining years of his working life at Airway Luggage in Elwood City, PA, retiring in 2007.
In 1961 Victor married Rosemary Singer and they went on to have two daughters, Darla and Deanna. Victor and Rosemary enjoyed 60 years of marriage until her death in 2021.
Victor was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He rooted for the Pirates, Penguins, Pitt Panthers and his beloved Steelers. You'd have been hard pressed to find Victor without wearing some sort of Steeler attire during football season. More than a just a sports fan, Victor looked forward to his daily workouts with his friends at the Challenges senior center. When Mr. Rogers said "Look for the helpers," he could have been speaking about Victor. He was always ready to lend a hand to help a family member, friend or neighbor. He was a great father and spent a lot of time with his children. He will be missed by all that knew him. .
Victor is survived by his daughters, Darla Bruno and Deanna DeRosa (Stephen), his brother Ben Bruno (Norma) and several nieces and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Katherine, his wife, Rosemary and his sister Dora Hannides (John).
Visitation will be on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A Blessing Service will follow visitation on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Deacon John Carran will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
