Obituary for Shirley A. Cozza (Torchio)
Shirley A. Cozza, 86, of Avalon Place passed away the morning of February 4, 2023 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on October 31, 1936 in Edinburg, PA, Shirley was the daughter of the late Bert and Leona Dierfield Torchio.
She married her beloved husband, Angelo Cozza on June 14, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1999.
In the early years Shirley had worked as a secretary at Shenango China. She then worked as a secretary and receptionist for Adult Literacy.
Shirley was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.
Shirley was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crafting. A loving mother, and grandmother, Shirley’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Mary Henderson (Donald) and Carole Vincent (Mark), all of New Castle, one sister, Virginia Whiteford of Jacksonville, FL, two grandchildren, Stephanie Vincent and Amanda Henderson, her sister-in-law, Zoe Torchio of Morrisville, PA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Torchio and two sisters, Anita Helzer and Gloria Master.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:45 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.
Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
