Robert Jay Turner, age 66, of New Castle went to his eternal home on November 8, 2022 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and LBD.
Bob was born on April 22, 1956 to Robert H. and Helen (Booher) Turner in New Castle.
Bob graduated from New Castle High School in 1975. He worked at Penn Power for 28 years.
In 1977 he married his wife, Linda (Scott). Bob and Linda went on to have two children; Emily and Robert C.
He was a member of Clen Moore Presbyterian Church and Lawrence County Sportsmen Association.
Bob was an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved hunting for Morel mushrooms in the spring, and Sheepshead mushrooms in the fall. He was an avid collector of Case knives and he loved giving doctor knives to all of his doctors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Saltwater surf fishing with his friends and son on Fishers Island, New York was one of his favorite things to do.
Bob was known for making beautiful, hand cut gun stocks. He was also a sharp shooter at local meat shoots and a great marksman competing at state and national silhouette shoots.
His most favorite thing to do was spending time with his family; especially his 6 grandchildren who brought him so much joy in his final years. They knew how to put a smile on Grandpa's face.
His parents, Bob and Helen preceded him in death.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Linda, and his children, Emily (David) and Robert (Michelle). Bob will also be fondly remembered by his 6 grandchildren; Charlotte, Isaac, Jacob, Willow, Gwyneth, and Naomi, by his sister Carol (Alan), brother, Richard (Tisha) , sister in law, Cindy (Dante), niece Kandi, and great nephew, Mason.
The family would especially like to thank Anova Hospice staff and caregivers, Sissi Book and Shari Phillips for the love and excellent care given to Bob. You made Bob's last days at home much brighter and happier.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 1pm to 2pm at Clen Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 E. Clen Moore Blvd., New Castle, Pa. 16105. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow.
