Obituary for Randall J. Savor

Randall J. Savor, 76, of West Pittsburg passed away the morning of March 12, 2023 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born on January 31, 1947 in Ellwood City, Randy was the son of the late Michael Savor and Dorothy Lewis Savor Pifer.

Randy is survived by his wife, the former Patricia MacDonald who he married on February 24, 1968.

Randy had worked for Babcock & Wilcox for nineteen years. He then worked as an Income Maintenace case worker for twenty-five years for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare until he retired. After retirement he worked for the Lawrence County Sherriff’s Department part-time.

He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. While serving Randy received The Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal of Valor and earned the Combat Infantry Badge. He was Honorably Discharged as an E5.

Randy was an avid softball player. For many years Randy had traveled all over the country and won many championships. He was named All World Player thirteen times. He had also coached little league baseball for several years.

In addition to his wife, Randy is survived by his children, Roger Savor (Teresa) and Lesley Ross (Dale), all of New Castle, two brothers, Gary Savor (Christine) and Bruce Savor (Deborah), his brother-in-law, Fred Mikush, six sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, six grandchildren, Abigail Savor, Roger Savor, Jr., Michael Ross (Tomasina Burrelli), Devin Ross, Jayci Ross (Mik Kloss) and Treyton Ross and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Tami Mikush and brother, Roger Savor.

Honoring his wishes services are private. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of The Alleghenies.
