Obituary for James E. Woods
James E. “GeGe” Woods, Sr., 75, of Neshannock Township passed away the morning of January 11, 2023 at his residence.
Born on September 10, 1947 in New Castle Jim was the son of Arthur G. Woods, Sr. and Mary Melnick Woods.
Jim had worked in the trucking industry for many years.
He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp.
Jim enjoyed being in the outdoors and going hunting. He also enjoyed listening to music. A loving father and grandfather Jim’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
Jim is survived by his children, Melissa Campbell (Dan), Carolyn Walsh (Andrew) and Paul Woods, five brothers, William, Norman, John, David and Michael Woods, three sisters, Norene Stelter, Gloria Woods and Renee Stewart, two grandchildren, Matthew Sulek, Elizabeth Sulek and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, James E. Woods, Jr., his granddaughter, Hailey, his brother, Arthur Woods, Jr., his sisters, Judy Woods and Margaret Jackson and infant sisters, Sharon and Karen Woods.
A funeral service will be planned at a future date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
