James Porter, 97, of Neshannock Township passed away the evening of March 19, 2023 at his residence.
Born on May 16, 1925 in Wampum, PA Jim was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Fisico Porter.
On January 1, 1978 Jim married his beloved wife, the former Mary Maxwell Nocera. She survives at home.
Jim had worked for US Steel for thirty-one years. He also worked for twenty-five years for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the PA Liquor Control Board. Jim had also worked for Moody Industries, traveling around the country inspecting steel production.
Jim had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Corp. from 1943 to 1946.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his two children, Linda Porter and Cheryl Giorgi (Antonio) and his step children, Anthony L. Nocera, Jr., Barbara Bernardi and James Nocera, his brother, Joseph Porter, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Anthony, Albert and Charles Porter and one sister, Mary Maloni.
Honoring his wishes the service is private. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
