Obituary for Helen L. Askernesse (Waters)
Helen L. Askerneese, 71, of New Castle went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2022.
Born on August 24, 1951 in Sharples, West Virginia, Helen was the daughter of the late Arron and Catherine Hawkins Waters.
Helen was preceded in death in 2019 by her beloved husband, Harold Askerneese.
Helen was an active member of Fresh Wind Ministries, formerly Victory Christian Center where she enjoyed attending many of their functions.
She also enjoyed cooking and watching game shows on T.V. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Helen is survived by her children, Michael Waters (Jennifer), Alonzo Waters (Jodi), Phillip Waters (Yolanda), Charlotte Turney (Michael) and Edward Turney (Heather), two brothers, Robert Waters (Wanda) and Calvin Waters (Darcell), one sister, Darlene Evans, twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and her granddaughter, Octavia Waters.
Visitation will be on Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fresh Wind Ministries, 2009 N. Mercer St. New Castle. A Homegoing Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Fresh Wind Ministries. Pastor Alonzo Waters will officiate.
Burial will be in Castle View Cemetery.
