Obituary for Edwin F. "Eddie" Meyers
Edwin F. “Eddie” Meyers, 72, of Union Township passed away on May 6, 2023 following a valiant battle with illness at Sharon Regional Hospital.
Eddie was born in New Castle on February 17, 1951. He was the son of the late Edwin C. and Margaret Carney Meyers.
He was a proud graduate of Shenango High School, and was able to enjoy a rewarding career until retirement on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Eddie was passionate about the outdoors, and loved animals. From a young age, his love for riding horses led him to show them as well and sparked interest in the care and showmanship for dogs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, particularly deep sea fishing off the Florida coast with his daughter, Amy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, the former Carol Martino, married on March 10, 1973. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Amy Meyers, two Godchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Eddie was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.
Visitation will be on Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A Blessing Service to follow visitation on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon John Carran officiating.
