Obituary for Dorothy B. VanDusen (Petrovich)
Dorothy B. VanDusen, 66, of New Castle passed away the evening of April 8, 2023 at her residence.
Born on August 31, 1956 in New Castle, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Wisdo Petrovich.
On January 1, 2011 Dorothy married her husband, Thomas Leslie. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2021.
In the early years Dorothy’s focus was on obtaining her Fine Arts Degree and using it in her Advertising and Design Business. Her career centered on and around being the owner and operator for over thirty years of the Pennsylvania Martial Arts Academy where she was a Master of Taekwondo.
Dorothy loved to paint. As an artist she enjoyed sharing her love of arts with her grandchildren. Dorothy also loved learning more about Jesus everyday through reading and her studies. A loving mother and grandmother, Dorothy’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Kuczynski (Justin), her sister, Teresa Petrovich, her two grandchildren, Nikolai and Ivan and her former husband, David VanDusen.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Marie Lohin.
The Family will receive Friends on Friday 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
A service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m.
