Obituary for Dennis C. McClain
Dennis Charles McClain, 73, of 184 McClain Lane, New Castle, PA, passed away Tuesday evening, February 7, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Born June 21, 1949, in Butler, PA, he was the son of the late Jesse V. McClain II and the late Virginia R. McClain.
Dennis, or “Skip” as friends referred to him, enjoyed spending time with his family, history, doing outdoor activities with his wife, hunting, tools and being the guy who had the ability to fix and troubleshoot any problem that required mechanical skill or a craftsman’s know-how.
Dennis is survived by Shirley C. McClain, his wife of 39 years. Dennis is also survived by his two sons, Timothy McClain (Brooke) of New Castle, Pennsylvania and Ted McClain (Jennifer) of Youngstown, Ohio; a grandson, Sawyer Charles McClain of New Castle, Pennsylvania; and a brother and sister, Jesse McClain III of Boardman, Ohio and Vicki McClain of Mineral Ridge, Ohio. Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Kirkwood of Scott Township, New Castle, Pennsylvania.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Ed & Don De Carbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. A service will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ron Eade, former pastor of the Church of Genesis, and Damian Williams, current pastor of the Church of Genesis, will officiate.
There will be a private burial for the family at Graceland Cemetery following the service.
