Charles G. Chirozzi, Jr. 100, of Union Township passed away the morning of November 26, 2022 at his residence.
Born on February 24, 1922 in New Castle, Charles was the son of the late Charles G. Chirozzi, Sr. and Sophia F. Schukly Chirozzi.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Lillian R. Kerr after nineteen years of marriage. He was then preceded in death by his second wife of forty-six years, the former Lillian M. Cedeño.
In the early years Charles had worked at Shenango China. He then worked for RCA TV as a repairman until his retirement.
Charles had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corp. and was also a Radio Operator on a B-25 Aircraft.
He was a Ham Radio operator and an avid gardener. Charles enjoyed doing woodworking projects and reading. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, Charles’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and his beloved grand dog “Chase”
Charles is survived by his children, Ruthann Horner (John), Joan Kim Alley (Willis) and Richard Lawson, nine grandchildren, Deanne Smith (Randall), Lilly Carbone (Daniel), Stevie- lyn Smith, Jason Alley, Melissa de Gouveia (Graeme), Christi Beculheimer (Chad), Tyler Van Meter, Jamie Wise and Brandi Taulbee (Lucas), seventeen great-grandchildren, Dala Smith, Justin Mayberry, Bricen Mayberry, Annabeth Alley, Anthony de Gouveia, Allison de Gouveia, Kaitlyn Dickinson, Charlotte Dickinson, Leilani Bell, Zachary Hart, Adrian Hart, Alexis Hart, Zane Hart, Cameron, Lilliana, Sawyer and Sage, one great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and both wives, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Arlene (Lawson) Wise, his brother, Dominic Chirozzi, two sisters, Katherine Petro, Virginia Kenst, his grandson, Dale Brice Mayberry, Jr. his nephew, Jerry Petro and niece, Lynn Kenst.
Visitation will be on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites on Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Richard Nero will officiate.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
