Obituary for Carmella Colatruglio

Carmella Colatruglio, 92, of Shenango Township, passed away November 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family

Born on February 21, 1930 in San Bartolomeo, in Galdo Benevento, Italy, Carmella was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria Valeza Fiorilli.

Preceding her in death on October 22, 1993 was her beloved husband of over forty-three years, Pietrangelo Colatruglio, whom she married on April 17, 1950.

Carmella was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.

Carmella enjoyed making wine, cooking, and working in her garden. She was a devoted wife, doting mother, and grandmother, who most importantly, loved raising her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to treasure her memory and continue her Italian traditions, three children, Joseph Colatruglio and wife Brunella of Boonton, NJ, Joanne Colatruglio of Cincinnati, Pasquale (Pat) Colatruglio and wife Julie of New Castle; her brother, Salvatore Fiorilli in Italy, her sisters, Michelina Gagliardi and Josephine Pacifico, both in Italy; three grandchildren, Michael (Rebekah) of Mechanicsville, MD; David (Rachel) of Poland, OH, Arianna and her great grandchildren, Liberty, Evangeline, and Rhonan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carmella is preceded in death by her brothers, Pasquale, and Dominic Fiorilli.

Visitation is Friday from 4pm to 7pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:00am for St. Vitus Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am conducted by Rev. Father Aaron Kriss.

Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.

The family would like to send many thanks to Three Rivers Hospice for their compassion and care they gave to Carmella.
