Betty J. (Jones) Nuzzo went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home where she resided.
Betty was born on August 7, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Catherine (Minteer) Jones.
Betty was married to Dominic Nuzzo for sixty two years.
She was a member of the First United Brethren Church on Eastbrook Road and in earlier years she was active in Children’s ministry and, also had a Puppet Ministry. Betty owned and operated Betty’s Beauty Salon from her home for forty years. Betty was a Cosmetologist and also Cosmetology Teacher. Betty used her beauty shop to share her testimony to others about Jesus Christ. She also worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer.
Betty’s love for the Lord instilled in her a heart for hospitality in which she enjoyed cooking for family and friends and baking for Church Bake sales. She loved nothing more than preparing Sunday meals for her family and sharing her faith with them as she wanted them all to come to know Jesus. She was a woman of prayer and encouragement to everyone that knew her and always had a listening ear.
She is survived by her children, Donald Nuzzo and Judy (Patrick) Daugherty. Betty is also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her Mother, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Nuzzo, Son-in-law, Rev. Kenneth Hall, and Daughter-in-law, Barbara Nuzzo.
Visitation will be on Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Road, New Castle, PA.
A service will be held at the church on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Marc Stephenson and her son-in-law, Rev. Patrick Daugherty will officiate.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
